R. Gordon Kean graduated from LSU in 1940 and served in the War Department’s Bureau of Public Relations until he joined the 718th Tank Battalion in the South Pacific. He was awarded the Bronze Star for his service.
After the war, Kean taught at the LSU Law Center, served in the local government for Baton Rouge, was a founding member of the Kean Miller law firm and was a great supporter of LSU until his death in 1992.
