Captain Gerard W. Hall, commander of Naval ROTC and professor of naval science at Southern University, was honored by LSU and Cadets of the Ole War Skule at a retirement dinner at the LSU Faculty Club on May 4. Hall, who has been at Southern for three years, is moving to a new assignment at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C.

Chancellor Michael Martin expressed appreciation for Hall’s service to the University. Also making remarks were LSU Commandant of Cadets Lt. Col. Marston McKeon and Cadets of the Ole War Skule President John W. Milazzo, Jr., who thanked Hall for his efforts involving Naval ROTC’s participation in LSU’s various military programs and events, including LSU Salutes, Chancellor’s Day Parade, LSU Memorial Day Ceremony, and commissioning ceremonies.

Hall was presented with a Louisiana-themed afghan as a reminder of his time in Baton Rouge.
